With over 1100 miles of coast line and countless estuaries, rivers and streams, PEI offers a huge variety of freshwater and salt water fishing. Despite the range of options, when I think about fishing, I think of trout.  PEI has both rainbow and brook trout, but brook trout, aka speckled trout are the most common.  This carving based on brook trout. It reminds me of days spent fishing, as a teenager, with my best friend in my brother’s canoe. This trout is carved from caribou antler and mounted on PEI driftwood. I design and carve all of my jewelry and sculpture in my studio/ workshop located in Brackley Beach, Prince Edward Island.

I use antler that is naturally shed and regrown by the animal each year. Once carved, each piece is sanded and buffed to  highly polished finish.
