Octopus on Blue

Beef bone on Driftwood

If you have read “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt; or “The Soul of an Octopus” by Sy Montgomery; or watched “My Octopus Teacher”  – then you already know how fascinating octopuses are.  This octopus is carved from beef bone and mounted on PEI driftwood.  The base is 12” h and has been painted ultramarine blue.  The octopus is 2.5” x 6” .

I design and carve all of my jewelry and sculpture in my studio/ workshop located in Brackley Beach, Prince Edward Island.

I use “locally sourced beef bone which I clean and whiten.  Once carved, each piece is sanded and buffed to highly polished finish. Each sculpture is signed.
